In 2023, of approx. 3.3 million cats that entered U.S. shelters/rescues, about 2.6 million were adopted out.
That's about 65%!
Cat cafés don't take in the same volume as shelters but report that most cats they host eventually get adopted. Data suggests an "active" cat café might aim for 10-20 adoptions per month. One café in Louisville has adopted out nearly 10,000 since it opened in 2018!
